What Admin?

Admin for UK trades, done by talking

Talk to your phone on site. The paperwork does itself.

What Admin? turns what you say, photograph and film on the job into finished documents. It starts with electrical certificates: say the job in any order, in your own words, hands-free if you like, and a finished BS 7671 certificate comes back in your branding by 6pm the next working day, ready to check and sign. Minor Works from £15, EICRs from £45.

What's inside

One app. A tile for each trade, and one for the business.

Pick the parts you need. Everything you put into one of them is there for the others, so nothing gets typed twice.

Live

Electrical

EICR, EIC and Minor Works today, with 25 more certificate types behind them. Dictate the job on site; the certificate comes back next working day. Making them yourself in the app is next.

How it works

Three steps, and two of them you already do.

Step 1

Finish the job

Photograph the board with the cover off and the supply. Then tell the app the rest however suits: talk to it hands-free with the phone on the board, key the results in, photograph your test sheet, or film a slow pass over the board. Any order, your own words. It reads back what it heard, so a misheard number is caught on the spot.

Step 2

Send it

One tap in the app, from the van or the kitchen table. It works with no signal and sends when you have one. We acknowledge within the hour, and if anything is missing we tell you straight away rather than guess.

Step 3

Check and sign

Your certificate comes back as an unsigned PDF with a one-line note on anything that looked off. Read it against your sheet, sign it, send it to your client.

What comes back

A certificate that looks like you wrote it. Because you did.

  • EICR, EIC or Minor Works
Laid out to the BS 7671 model forms, with the schedules of inspection and test results, continuation sheets numbered.
  • Your branding on every page
Logo, trading name, address, scheme and registration number, signatory, all from a profile we set up once.
  • Observations worded properly
Your codes, written in the plain, specific style a landlord or letting agent can act on.
  • Client pack for EICRs
Remedial quotation priced from your rates and a covering letter to the client, ready to send with the report.
  • A second pair of eyes
Anything that looks inconsistent gets flagged in the delivery note: a Zs over the limit for the device, a missing RCD time, a date that does not add up.
  • Serial numbered and logged
Every certificate carries a unique serial and is logged in your register. We hold the PDF for twelve months, or for as long as you ask us to.

Who signs

You do. We don't.

What Admin? prepares documents. We do not inspect, test or certify anything, and we never decide a code or an overall assessment. You remain the inspector or installer, your results stay yours, and every PDF leaves us unsigned with that printed on it. Our check for anomalies is a courtesy to save you a red face, not a review you can rely on.

Prepared by What Admin? from results and observations supplied by the signatory, who remains solely responsible for the content of this certificate.

Printed in the footer of every page we send.

Questions

The things sparks ask first.

I'm NICEIC or NAPIT registered. Can I use these certificates?

Check your scheme's rules first. Some schemes expect members to issue certificates on the scheme's own forms or through its online system, and we cannot log into a portal for you. Where a scheme has a PDF form, send it and we fill that. Otherwise we lay the certificate out to the BS 7671 model forms with your scheme number on it, and you decide whether that suits the job. Notification of notifiable work is yours.

Is this only for electricians?

Electrical is the part that is live, because it is the trade we know best. The way it works, say it, photograph it, film it and the app does the typing, is the same for any trade, so gas, plumbing and heating, fire and security, and solar and battery are next, each with its own tile and its own set of documents. The Jobs tile (quotes, invoices, diary) is for any trade from day one.

What exactly do you need from me?

A photo of the board with the cover off and the supply head, your test results, and a voice note covering the client, the address, the extent and limitations, your observations with codes and the next inspection date. Say it, key it in, photograph the sheet or film the board, in any order; our how to order page lists what to cover, with a worked example. If anything is missing we hold the order and ask, rather than guess.

What if one of my readings is wrong?

If it looks inconsistent, for example a Zs above the maximum for the stated device, we flag it in the note that comes back with the PDF. Whether to act on it is your call. We type what you give us, so the results are yours, and the certificate is yours once you sign it.

What happens to my client's details?

We process them only to prepare your documents, as your data processor under UK GDPR. Files sit in a dedicated, access-controlled folder and are deleted twelve months after delivery unless you ask otherwise. We never contact your clients.

How quickly can I have it?

Orders in by 6pm are back by 6pm the next working day. Same-day is in by 1pm, back by 6pm, for 50% extra. If we miss a same-day deadline you get the surcharge back; if we miss standard by more than a day, the order is free.

How do I pay?

A card link comes with your first orders; nothing is sent until it has cleared. Once you are doing a few a month we set you up as an account customer with one invoice a month on 14-day terms.

Send a job

Your first one is the test. Make it a real job.

Send today's EICR and see what comes back tomorrow. Pilot customers pay half price for their first month in return for honest feedback and a line we can quote.

Send it from the van

Talk to it hands-free, or key in, photograph and film. A checklist ticks itself as you go so nothing is missing. Works with no signal and sends when you have one. Nothing to install from a store: open it on your phone and add it to your home screen.
